چکیده

To classify and statistically compare architecture data from biand trifurcating tree-like structures across different sizes the Tree Symmetry Index as the mean of an asymmetry measure at all the branching points in the centrifugal hierarchy as developed by Van Pelt et al. (1992) and Van Pelt (1997) or the branching points mean in centrifugal hierarchy developed by Sismilich (2001) and Sismilich et al. (2003). Some of the comparative methods described earlier show instability for certain sizes of tree-like structures. We present simulation examples of instability. A new method will be described, and simulations showing how greater stability and discriminative power can be achieved with this new method for comparative analysis. Moreover, we will show that more information of the structural complexity by the new method downscaled parameters are upheld.

Damage Detection in Beam-like Structures using Finite Volume Method

In this paper the damage location in beam like-structure is determined using static and dynamic data obtained using finite volume method. The change of static and dynamic displacement due to damage is used to establish an indicator for determining the damage location. In order to assess the robustness of the proposed method for structural damage detection, three test examples including a static...

Application of endurance time method in damage assessment of concrete moment frames

Nonlinear Time History (NTH) analysis is currently the most reliable method for estimating structural behavior. Considerable computational demand and complexity of this method may cause difficulty for its routine practical application. Based on the Methodology of Endurance Time (ET) method, it can estimate the nonlinear response of structures with a much lower computational cost. In this resear...

A Comparative Study of Genetic Diversity, Heritability and Inter-relationships of Tree and Nut Attributes between Prunus scoparia and P. elaeagnifolia using Multivariate Statistical Analysis

By applying multivariate statistical analysis, this research aimed to estimate the heritability and find relationships between the vegetative and reproductive characteristics of Prunus scoparia and Prunus elaeagnifolia. Twenty genotypes of each species were selected randomly from cultivated populations and twenty-two traits including the tree, leaf, flower, nut and kernel attributes were measur...
